10 Best Things to Do in Montreal

This is the ultimate guide to a weekend trip in Montreal.

You mentioned you never liked any of those lists, so I made you one myself. Everything is booked, but we can easily cancel and move things around. This should be fun…

1. Grab a Drink in Old Montreal

We’re both working on Friday, but we’ll leave as soon as you’re done and showered—I already told everyone if they need to meet with me, I’ll take it on the phone while driving, so I can leave whenever. That means we’ll be getting to Old Montreal some time around 10pm, which leaves us time for a drink or two, a quick bite, and off to sleep to get started on our morning!

2. Stay at the Hotel Epik

After a drink and walk around old montreal, we’ll make our way back to the castle-inspired Hotel Epik. Champagne is french, but we’re gonna make it Canadian with the amount we’ll drink at this Epik hotel (yes, this list will be filled with shitty jokes).

3. Explore Old Montreal

Saturday morning, we’ll wake up and enjoy some crepes before exploring Old Montreal to it’s full extent. We’ll see Basilique Notre-Dame, La Grande Roue de Montreal, and Montreal’s Old Port while eating lots of croissants and other almost-french shit (if you’re lucky, I’ll break out some french and embarrass myself).

4) Watch the sunset at Bota Bota

Bota Bota is one of the best spas in Montreal (look it up its fucking awesome). We have our spots reserved from 4pm - 7pm on Saturday — and a bottle of champagne with our name on it. The sun sets at 5:47, so we’ll have a great view as it sets over Montreal’s Skyline

5) Enjoy a World-Famous Dinner

Montreal has world-class restaurants and I couldn’t decide which we’d enjoy more. So I made two reservations for 9:30pm and I can’t wait to hear which one you choose. Both restaurants have Two Michelin Stars, so I’m sure we’ll be happy at either.

The first is Joe Beef. This is the most famous restaurant in Montreal, with a menu that changes every day. As the name implies, lots of things on the menu are non-vegetarian, but I’ve done a bit of research and it seems like it’s great for vegetarians, too.

Even still, I made another reservation at Toque! Montreal. They have a whole set of fish and vegetable dishes that I’m sure will be good!

6) Go Out on Rue Saint Laurent

We’re going to start our night at the most fun (and mostly chill) club in Montreal: Apt 200.

From there, every club, bar, and other fun place can be found right on Rue Saint Laurent. We can let the night take us!

7) Drunkenly Eat Poutine

Every city has its staples and drunk food is at the core of what we call “culture.” Montreal’s culture is pinned upon their drunk food staple: Poutine. Given that you’re nearing retirement-age and you ~studied abroad in college~, I’m sure this isn’t the first you’ve had poutine, and I’m also sure you have some opinions about it. But this is a non-negotiable. You need to eat Poutine with me — thank you very much!

8) Wake Up and Have the World-Famous Hotel Epik Crepes

Sunday morning, we’ll need some nourishment, and what better than Hotel Epik’s Krepes (yes, Crepes spelled with a K is the best joke I could come up with for this one. Onward and Upward!).

9) Explore and Shop in Downtown Montreal

There’s a whole half of Montreal we haven’t seen! The “Not Old” part! There’s tons of shopping and places to see, but I don’t shop, so this’ll be your wheelhouse. I’m looking forward to enthusiastically following you around as you shop.

10) Drive home with your awesome Boyfriend

On Sunday, we’ll say “see ya later” to Montreal and drive back to these 50 states. Time for a dope playlist.

I can’t wait for this trip with you.

btw sorry this is on my personal website — I didn’t have time to set up a whole new one.
